Privacy Policy

1. About this policy

The IFC Layer Bird App (the “App”) is an operational application used by participating farmers, Institution/Integrated Farming Centre (IFC) personnel, and authorized programme or monitoring staff. It supports the management of layer bird batches, daily flock balances, egg production and sales, feed and medicine purchases, expenses, and related reports.

The App is operated for the IFC Layer Bird programme by the Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society (JSLPS) and its authorized programme administration and technical service providers.

This Privacy Policy applies to information submitted through the App and processed by its supporting application programming interfaces, databases, and authorized administrative reports.

Google Play data disclosure summary

• Data collected: account identifiers, farmer and programme records, layer bird production records, purchase and financial records, administrative location, and limited technical logs.
• Primary purpose: account authentication, App functionality, programme management, reporting, security, support, and compliance.
• Data sale and advertising: personal information is not sold and is not used for third-party advertising.
• Data sharing: limited to authorized programme personnel, contracted technical providers, auditors or programme partners, and authorities where required.
• Security in transit: the production service is provided through HTTPS to protect information sent between the App and server.
• Deletion: users may request account deactivation and deletion as explained in Section 7.

2. Information we collect

Depending on the user's role and the activities recorded, the App may process the following categories of information:

Device permissions

The current backend service does not intentionally request or receive the user's address book or contacts, microphone recordings, media files, or precise device location through the Layer Bird APIs. If a future App feature requires additional device permission, the App will request permission through the device and this policy will be updated as appropriate.

3. How information is used

Information is used only for legitimate App and programme operations, including to:

• authenticate users and provide role-appropriate access;
• maintain accurate layer bird batch and daily flock balances;
• record mortality, egg production, egg sales, feed, medicine, and expenses;
• prepare farmer, IFC, district, block, financial, and monitoring reports;
• support programme implementation, field assistance, audit, and accountability;
• detect duplicate, invalid, or inconsistent records;
• maintain security, investigate errors, and improve service reliability; and
• meet applicable administrative, contractual, or legal requirements.

We do not sell personal information or use App information for third-party advertising.

4. Sharing and disclosure

Information may be accessed or shared only where reasonably necessary with:

• authorized IFC, programme, monitoring, district, block, or state-level personnel;
• technology providers that host, maintain, secure, or support the App under appropriate confidentiality requirements;
• auditors, programme partners, or public authorities where access is authorized and required for programme oversight; and
• law-enforcement, regulatory, or other authorities when disclosure is required by applicable law or a valid official request.

Access is intended to be limited according to user role and operational need.

5. Data retention

We retain information for as long as it is needed to operate the App, maintain programme and financial records, support reporting or audit requirements, resolve disputes, and comply with applicable requirements. Retention periods may differ by record type.

When information is no longer required, it may be deleted, anonymized, or archived securely in accordance with authorized programme procedures and technical capabilities.

6. Data security

Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used to protect App information, including HTTPS transmission, controlled access, account authentication, server-side validation, database controls, maintenance restrictions, and operational monitoring.

No internet or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Users should keep credentials confidential, use authorized devices, and report suspected unauthorized access promptly.

7. Account access, deactivation, and deletion

The App does not provide public self-registration. Accounts are created or issued by authorized IFC/JSLPS programme personnel for eligible users.

A user may request account deactivation and deletion of personal data associated with the account by using the dedicated IFC Layer Bird App account deletion page or by emailing jslps.ranchi@gmail.com. The request should include the user's name, registered mobile number or user ID, associated IFC, and a clear description of the request.

Identity and authority may be verified before action is taken. On an approved request, login access will be deactivated and personal data will be deleted or anonymized where it is no longer required. Certain batch, transaction, financial, audit, fraud-prevention, or programme records may be retained where required for legitimate programme operations or applicable requirements. Retained records will remain protected and access-restricted.

8. Your choices and rights

Subject to your role, programme rules, and applicable law, you may request to:

• review or correct inaccurate profile or operational information;
• ask how your information is being used;
• report an unauthorized account or suspected misuse;
• request deletion or restriction where the information is not required to be retained; or
• raise a privacy complaint through your assigned IFC or programme administrator.

Some records may not be deleted immediately where they are needed for programme operations, financial reconciliation, audit, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.

9. Children's privacy

The App is not designed for independent use by children. Accounts are intended for eligible registered farmers and authorized programme personnel. If information relating to a child is submitted unintentionally, the responsible programme administrator should be contacted so the matter can be reviewed.

10. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when App features, operational practices, service providers, or applicable requirements change. The revised policy will be published on this page with a new effective date. Material changes may also be communicated through the App or authorized programme channels.
